Litigation Practice

All of the business litigators at Hodel Briggs Winter LLP are experienced — on average, they have at least ten years in practice. None are “in training.”  We only use the correct number of litigators on each matter. This experienced, focused staffing is determined at the outset, after working with the client to define what it means to “win” its litigation (or potential litigation) problem. We tailor all strategy to achieve those agreed-upon goals.

Our litigators specialize in complex business disputes in a wide variety of industries and practice areas. They have substantial experience in early resolution (and litigation avoidance) strategies, dispositive motions, negotiated settlements, mediations, arbitrations, trials, post-trial motions, and appeals (including oral argument before the California Supreme Court and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals).

We handle litigation involving all forms of real estate development and transactions, complex accounting and valuation in myriad industries, all aspects of commercial and consumer lending and banking operations, defense of class actions, and defending and prosecuting claims based on trade secret theft and employee raiding, trademark, copyright, unfair competition, and all other business torts. Our clients include Fortune 50 companies, governmental entities, entrepreneurs, financial institutions, real estate developers, owners and portfolio managers, technology companies, national and regional retailers, multi-level marketing companies, product manufacturers, restaurants and start-up businesses.
